If you're not hungry, then it is most likely your spleen. A normal spleen is about the size of a fist, and sits under your ribs on the left side - very near your stomach. Mine was extremely large, as I felt it on my right side. When enlarged, it goes over your stomach, pushing it in and making it smaller, and you less able to eat much. The spleen does shrink, and the appetite does return.
Oh, and I did gain weight - partly because I would eat more, especially breads, to avoid the nausea when taking gleevec. I believe if you are careful about how much you eat, and are able to exercise, the weight gain shouldn't be too much.
