Well, hello to all. I've not been around for a few days, so thought I
would post my information from my quarterly doctor's visit today. I
just read about Katy and the possibility of pneumonia before posting,
so to let you all know, my doctor insisted that I take a flu shot & the
pneumonia vaccine as well while I was there today. She is my fifth
doctor since being dx'ed & she is the first one to even talk to me
about having them. I always wondered each fall whether or not to get
vaccinated.......the last one I ever had was around thirty years ago,
:>). I got so sick with an intestinal flu over the Christmas holidays
afterwards, I told myself I would never take another one. :>) The
nurse promised me that they've gotten better over the years......so,
I'm keeping my fingers & toes crossed. :>) Also, am set up to have
one of those "Mug" tests done a week from Friday. Plus, came home with
a new prescription for Lasix & Potassium. She thinks the shortness of
breath is most likely water retention around the lungs. Guess we shall
see. I am also still showing signs of anemia, but still not bad, she
said. My hemoglobin is still a little above 10, I haven't compared it
to four month's ago results, yet, to see how much it dropped.....I'm
thinking maybe a point or two...don't remember. The heart "doppler"
test is just precautionary since I'm complaining of the chronic fatigue
and the shortness of breath & she was up on the CHF "scare". I asked
her about the last PCR test, and she informed me that they didn't
receive one for some reason but that there would be one done from the
blood drawn today and the results would be back in a couple of weeks.
I was thinking I remember seeing one in what they Fed/Exed me back the
end of July & according to the graph they used, it had "failed" written
across it. That was from using the bone marrow. So, guess I will
have to wait and see when the new test results come.

Just wanted to let everyone know........anyway, I fill like a "human
pin cushion" after today. :>) They took six vials (3 purple & 3 green
tops) of blood & then I had to go back across the hall after seeing the
doc for the two shots.....one in each arm. I had bandaids everywhere.
:>) Thankfully, I had worn long sleeves.

Keep Looking Up,
Suzieq
