Dear Anjana:
I go ahead and take the extra calcium supplements........I've noticed
that when I forget them, that's when I seem to have more muscle cramps
than when I am taking them. I take the Viactive Chewables which also
have extra Vit. D in them. I don't know if all the extra supplements I
take are actually helping or not, but I figure it can't hurt anything.
(smile) And, I do seem to feel better & I'm not getting all the
sinus problems or coughs & other little viruses I normally had before.
A lot of people in our area are already experiencing some types of flu
with vomiting & diarreah. You tend to think about those kinds of
things when dealing with a chronic type illness this time of the year
with being out amongst everybody doing your Christmas shopping & with
all the parties & Christmas programs as well as traveling. I told my
mom one time a while back that one never knows what illness the person
they just passed in the store might be carrying. But, I am not going
to live my life in a "bubble", so I think taking the extra supplements
help keep our bodies defenses up.

I do hope Roy's blood work all comes back with wonderful news.

And, Katybug, I am sure sorry that you have been so ill lately. I do
hope that you get well soon. My mom has been in the same boat as you.
I think I had discussed her problem with Anjana before......she has an
auto-immune disease of her platelets. Back earlier this year when it
was discovered, she was treated & got them back up with in a normal
range and the doctor took her off the Prednisone. Within three weeks
she was down to almost 0. He gave her three different IV treatments of
Gamuglobulin (sp.?). Then tried the Prednisone again & it didn't work
this time, so he tried Rituxin IV treatments (one a week for four
weeks) along with the Prednisone. She's finally back up in a normal
range, but sometime during this time she picked up some type of virus
& was running a very high fever, began coughing & they thought it was
pneumonia. They've sinced ruled that out along with Sinusitis. She's
had three different types of antibiotics. Plus, sometime during all
this, her pusle rate went up over a hundred, so he put her on another
type of blood pressure pill. After her last treatment of Rituxin & the
high dosages of Prednisone along with all the anti-biotics, she was so
weak she could hardly get herself out of bed. Could barely walk. We
were all very concerned, but this past week she seems to be doing so
much better. It's sometimes a long hard road, but we can't give up,
must keep fighting and keep going no matter how difficult it gets. So,
Katy, my dear, you just hang in there and keep fighting. We're all
here for you and rooting you on as well as praying., God bless you.

Never Ever Give Up.....
Suzieq
