Hi I'm Dave from England was diagnosed in May 2002 with CML. After being diagnosed went from 1st stage straight into blast crisis, so had a stem cell transplant in August 2002 from my brother who was luckily a perfect match. Have been on glivec since approx July 2002 suffer badly with the cramps and have tried quinin drinks which didn't do much to help. I am on magnesium tablets which do help a bit but still get bad cramps now trying the calcium option. I have been lucky with all the treatments so far and my bcr able has been negative for nearly 3 years. How much would I like to come off Glivec now? Just to see if it is the Glivec or the transplant that has worked but, my wife doesn't want me to just incase we have to go throiugh it all again (and I can understand her point of view as I think she went through more than I did when I had the treatment). However I do have that thought in the back of my mind alot. But hey if it aint broke dont fix it is what they say.
Good luck to you all out there.
