Dear Fran,

  Lisa is very right.  In all the pediatric trials, doses were given to
the children based on height and weight.  Since his PCR is so low, I am
glad that the doctor reduced his dose because that may mean lessening
of all the side-effects.  CML parents have mentioned in the support
groups growth problems on Gleevec for their kids so you are definitely
not alone.

   If there is too much of the foot pain, talk to his doc and see if
testing and X-rays need to be done to see if there is any other
problem.  Also, give the lowered dose of Gleevec more time and see if
the pain goes away.
