Hi Suzie - Believe me I can sympathize... I relapsed on Gleevec in Sep 04 after reaching PCR-U. I switched to Sprycel in Apr 05. I saw my 3 month pcr numbers from Apr05 go from 7.42 .12 .0082 .0028 .001 pcru pcru .03 (dec 06) Then in Mar 07 they couldnt get a good sample and in June I was back to PCRU. I was scared when I got that result in Dec that I was relapsing. I recieved lots of reassurances that it was most likely a blip and pcr can fluctuate. Everyone who told me this was right!!! Are your pcr test by blood or marrow? All of these were by marrow. They also did blood pcr and what is wierd is that even during the blip in Dec, the blood pcr remained neg. But be assured from first hand experience, blips can happen and you really only need to be concerned if there is an upward trend over 2-3 consecutive tests... I am praying that yours is nothing and your next one will be neg again. -karen
