Hi Suzieq
I can totally sympathize with your pcr jumps. I had reached PCR-U on gleevec
about 5 years ago. Iy was shortlived and withing 6 months my PCR started
showing pos (this is before the new PCR tests were used), FISH tests started up
and eventually by blood counts started to rise. It was definitely relapse.
After 6 months I started the sprycel trial. It took about 9 months to reach
pcr-u again (whew!). But at 12 months the pcr numbers started going up. from
pcr-u to .003. Yikes!!! I knew for sure it was relapse. But people assured
me that jumps like that do happen and my dr said it does happen so we'll wait
and see what the next 3 month BMB showed. Sure enough the next one (and the
next 2 3-month BMBs after that) showed pcr-u as well! THANKFULLY!!! My blood
counts stayed perfectly normal through this... So hang in there and know that
jumps DO happen!
