Hi dear, I will pray for your friend, her family, but also for you. I am sure
it is very hard. It reminds me how close we are here, how we all became friends
with a common story: CML. We all can talk about our problems, fears, pray for
each other, help each other, give advices and suggestions. Sometimes these
connections are stronger than with any other friend we have, because they
(healthy friends) never exactly know what we go through, what we value, what we
think...
May you have peace... but also know that we all are here for you.
  Love, Livia

My son just emailed me a message from the daughter of my dear friend,
Arlene, from Bakersfield, Cal. Arlene has been fighting cancer for the
past four years or longer. It started out as colon cancer.....she won
round one, but it returned a few months later......when I found out
about my CML, it drew her and I even closer and we constantly emailed
each other with updates and prayer requests. She knew how much I
feared the dreaded BMB's and constant blood tests (my fear of
needles), so she would find out the exact times of the tests & pray
for me.

A couple of months ago, the last time I heard from her, she mentioned
something about them wanting to do a bone scan as they thought the
cancer might have gone to the bone........I wanted to call her to
learn more, but couldn't find her number. I did not realize how bad
she was until this morning. The message from the daughter said it had
reached her lungs & that they were going to remove the breathing tube
today. She can not live without it. My heart is broken.......but, I
am glad that she will no longer have to suffer with chemo treatments &
the constant fight to live. She is younger than me......somewhere in
her late forties, has two grown children & one young grandson (around
1 year old).

Please remember the Reed family today in your prayers.......it will be
hard, I'm certain. I ask for your prayers as well.......even though
she and I only met one time about eight years ago, God gave us a
connection & we became fast friends using email & cards......I am
grieving for my lost buddy & co-fighter.

Thank you all,

Suzieq
