Hi Lee,

When I was on Gleevec, I only took ibuprofen. I have a lot of pain in my back
and hip so when I needed something stronger, my doctor prescribed Vicoprofen.
I don't think is would hurt too much if you took Tylenol once in a great while
(small amounts). I get migraines a lot and would take excedrine migraine which
has acetaminophen, aspirin and caffeine and it did not seem to effect my labs
or how the Gleevec was working. Google Gleevec and search for drug
interactions, you will be surprised at what you find. If you get sick and need
antibiotics, be sure the prescribing doctor knows you're on Gleevec, there are
several antibiotics that have interactions with Gleevec.

I hope this helps...I was on Gleevec for 1 1/2 years before it stopped working
for me, now I have to figure out all the no no's with Sprycel now.

Hope this helped some :-)
Lenda

Hi everyone!
I have posted on here a few times before and have received replies that were very helpful.  I have another question. According to what I have read, one is not permitted to take Tylenol ( acetaminophen) while taking Gleevec.  Does anyone know what pain medications are allowed while on Gleevec?  I have been unable to locate any information.  Your help/experience is greatly appreciated!

Thank you and blessings to all,

Lee
