ITP  Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura.  People with lupus have been
known to start making other auto-antibodies that bind to proteins on
the surface of their platelets.  Ultimately treat with
immunosuppression to control the production of antibodies.  They may
need to modify your Lupus treatment.  In the short term, the doctor
may recommend apheresis and intravenous immunoglobulin.
