Hi Greenie, I am on a trial, it is a combination of Gleevec with Interferon and Sargamostim. This trial is conducted by Dr. Smith at JHU. What I said about stopping the medication is his recommendation. If my results are successful, then I will be going of all the medication. There are several people on this trial and are doing very well. Last week I was told that I am responding excellent, so let’s see… No worries, I would never go off the medication without doctor’s approval. Dr. Smith is a capacity, one of the CML leaders, he knows what he is doing. I am sure that Interferon can be tough on people, but I am doing very well. They found the right dosage for me and with Gleevec, I am sure I am not taking such a high dose as people who used to be on Interferon only. What was your dose? Mine is 0.3 cc. I think you should ask your Doctor first before you stop all medication unless he tells you different.
