Hi Erin,
I have United Healthcare PartD. They paid for my Sprycel last year. I didn't
have a cap. I was in the donut hole very fast and you have to pay 4350.00 out
of pocket then you pay 5% of total cost which was about 150 per month. There
are many different kinds of coverage out there. Go to Medicare.gov and you can
get a whole list of different insurances. You type in the meds you are on and
they will take you right to the website that best fits your needs.
Don't give up. It is very expensive but miracle stuff. I have heard that
Novartis can help you also.
Best of luck

When I looked for a medi-gap program that covered Gleevec I didn't
find one. Most medicare related coverage has a cap of $4000.00 per
year (their fee combined with yours, leading only to a few months
coverage). Novartis is the company that makes Gleevec and they do have
a patient assistance plan for those who are unable to be covered for
the medication otherwise. The phone number is 1-800-277-2254. I hope
that helps.
