Hello Sandy
I had very severe muscle cramps, in the hands, feet and back. They
would wake me out of a sound sleep. Any use of my hands or walking any
distance would warrant a full blown attack. The two things I found to
work best was drinking tonic water use a little lime, it makes it
better) and taking 1200 m calcium a day. The cramping is directly
links to gleevec as when I went on a gleevec break ( as per
oncologist) the cramping went completely away. I have since gone to
tasigna... and after a few short weeks, the cramping was back again.
It seems to be my side effect of choice! Although other side effects
cycled in and out, the cramping stayed the entire time. I am 18 months
on tasigna and it is still an issue, even with the calcium and tonic
water. If I forget to take the calcium, man, they get really, really
bad.
Best of luck!
Barb
