I get a perm all the time and also get my hair tinted. I never thought
about it. The only thing my beautician did different was: I used to get a
perm every 12 weeks and a dye inbetween. She now gives me a perm-wait 6
weeks-just a cut-wait 6 weeks do a tint. She did this beause my hair was
getting quite brittle. It has helped alot and my hair is in good condition
now. I couldn't get by without a perm as my hair is stick straight and lot
of colicks. It makes me feel really good to have my hair look nice. I
think that is important to our wellbeing. Best of luck to you

Have any of you ladies gotten a perm while taking Gleevec or sprycel?
While I was on gleevec, over the years, I have gotten several with no
problems. The only thing I noticed was the perms didn't seem to curl
like they once did and didn't last as long. I was planning on changing
my beauticians as a friend of mine's daughter has a shop in her
home...and I don't,can't go into a crowded beauty shop without having
a panic attack. Anyway, this girl has known about my cml, and the fact
that I am taking chemo and she said she couldn't do it without a
statement from my doctor. has anyone in the group gotten a perm and
what was the outcome? I think it would be ok, as it was with the
others but just wanted to inquire since I am now on sprycel? My hair
is a wreck so really need this done as it would help my self esteem.
