Dear Pat, I am very worried about you....getting good medical care from people you feel confident in is important...while I understand insurance issues can be nightmares..please please get another opinion and if your gut tells you that this new primary doc is not for you..then...listen to your gut..many drugs taken with these CML drugs exascerbate side effects, especially if you take them at the same time...some times taking them several hours apart can help...... Many people have difficulty with Cymbalta...a low dose to start of Lexapro may help in the same way but with out those bad side effects. Titrating up on any med seems reasonable when oneis very sensitive... there are also some older tried and true antidepressants that may be easier on your system..Welbutrin, zoloft etc.....although with each one you would need to find out if they are contra- indicated with Sprycel...Keep the faith, while there are many drugs that you we cannot mix with our Kinase Inhibitors, there are many others we can use....Uptaking any psychotropic med may make you feel a bit weird at first but it should level off...if you feel significantly worse or suicidal..discontinue the med immediatly...Regarding Sprycel...the heart side effect is of great concern to me, as I know it is to you...are you on a whole dose??did you start on a whole dose????I do not know your status regarding remission, but I am aware that many people achieve complete remission on 50 mgs a day, some even less of a dose....40 a day...perhaps you are so sensitive that you are one of those people....I could never take a whole dose of any of the drugs thus far...but they work for me on a lesser dose...I still get side effects, but not so severe that they are life threatening or completely incapacitating...I am not a doctor...just a concerned fellow warrior, a psychologist, who reads a lot, whose sister is an oncologist who works with all these drugs.....please get good medical attention, and stay close to us..fellow warriors must stick together... we can figure this thing out together...you are not the only person who has had problems with all the meds...there is also a fourth med, in trials, but possibly available for those who are Big hug.....Beth....
