Thanks, Virginia, Tom, & Pat for your response. You know, I never thought about my nails, but my hair has changed tremendously since being on Gleevec. I went from straight hair to naturally curly!!! I use to spend a fortune on perms to get the curl I have today, (smile)! I guess I never notice my nails as I wore acrylics for years.....before Gleevec and after up until two years ago. Decided to give the nails a break....well, it's been one thing after another trying to get them healthy, so decided to go back to acrylics. I have a new tech who has also been a care giver, so she knows what the body goes through with some medicines, especially chemotherapy-type drugs. She put the acrylics on and I wore then for about three months, then she took them off to give the nails a break. It was during this time, she noticed the problem. But, we've been using some strong nail medicine on them about twice daily and it has helped tremendously........She gets it from Sally's and it's called Dr. G's Clear Nail......expensive little bottle, but very good stuff. She told me that she could help me "thicken" up my nails, too. So will work on that.
I've noticed since taking the Fish Oil and the Flaxseed oil, it has helped a lot with the dry skin issues.....plus, using a lot of lotion...:):) Bath & Body Works is my favorite store now. LOL!!!
