Hi Marty, I started Gleevec on Feb. 5th 2000. I was in remission by May
of that same year. Two years ago I had a problem and was put on two
different meds. I ended up very sick from the meds, so I took it on my own to
stop the Gleevec for 26 days. After having my blood work in Chicago I
received a call from my Doctor that my CML showed back in my blood work. I
guess I'm one of the few that will have to get taking my Gleevec to the end
or until they do come up with a cure. Their have been a few people I've
been told that after stopped taking their Gleevec that their CML didn't come
back. I guess those few are the lucky one's. But what the hack I'm still
here and kicking and if they would have now ask me to be in their study
things I'm sure would be different. So I'm a very LUCKY person. Better
then winning the Lotto.

Marty,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful words and
support. You are very special and your positive and wise words are
always uplifting. I've continuously followed your posts even if I did
not always comment on them. I remember your trademark "18s" from
several years ago and kind of filed it away....when I returned to this
site, I was once again reminded of 18s.

I'm really not a "body art" type of person, but, I had decided a long
time ago that I wanted a tattoo on my foot, BUT, it had to be
something of great significance and meaning....Once I am sure I am in
"good" health and can find a reputable artist, I would certainly like
to have 18s on the top of my foot. I value all religions and my choice
of placement (the foot) is the only acceptable place I would consider
something permanent. I KNOW it is there.

Out of respect and because of my own ignorance, what is the proper
Hebrew "signature?" I hope you do not find this offensive, if so,
please let me know. I can take it (really!). My fireplace mantle
displays a Menorah, Buddha, a Hindu deity as well as an antique
Tibetan singing bowl. I am waiting to find a special cross to place
there as well. I wear many Saints medals around my neck and have a
special affinity for St. Michael and I'm not even Catholic. Okay, so
I'm weird, lol....

Thank you, Marty, I respect your positive outlook and sage advice.

18s,
Kelly
