Hi Marty, I started Gleevec on Feb. 5th 2000. I was in remission by May of that same year. Two years ago I had a problem and was put on two different meds. I ended up very sick from the meds, so I took it on my own to stop the Gleevec for 26 days. After having my blood work in Chicago I received a call from my Doctor that my CML showed back in my blood work. I guess I'm one of the few that will have to get taking my Gleevec to the end or until they do come up with a cure. Their have been a few people I've been told that after stopped taking their Gleevec that their CML didn't come back. I guess those few are the lucky one's. But what the hack I'm still here and kicking and if they would have now ask me to be in their study things I'm sure would be different. So I'm a very LUCKY person.
