HI Peg. Sorry about your headache. I don't know if this will help you or not, but if your headache is from the Tasigna, you may want to try and take some pain medication 30 minutes before you take your doses...while you are uptaking the med. After a couple of weeks taper off the pain med to see if the headache is still there or gone. I get bad headaches uptaking sprycel. I have learned to premedicate for the first 10 days or so and then taper off the amt. of premedicating..as my body adjust to the med again...I no longer need the pre medication and don't get headaches any more after the first month. I hope your headache is not related and goes away fast! If not, it's just a thought of what might help.
Regarding your numbers, and others can respond as well, you are correct in needing to compare numbers from the same lab each time. compare apples to apples....not apples to oranges. It does appear that numbers from the same lab, going from 0 to .053 would indicate a significant increase....however....I would try NOT to worry as your numbers are still quite low and you are addressing it, uptaking your Tasigna..and need time to get on a therapeutic dose for yourself. And if the error factor is 0.5 to 0.05 is 0.053 really significant or can I worry about something else this week!
