Millie, you wrote "I know you have hopes of it being found in our lifetime, but I am finding out that it wouldn't benefit the drug companies to find anything. How could they stay in business if they found cures for it all?"
Your wrong Millie, they will find a cure for CML and it will be in our lifetime, this I am sure of. Just look at what has happened in the last ten years concerning CML. My bone marrow transplant was almost twenty four years ago and just look at all of the progress that has been made in all of these years. As far as putting them out of business, well, did the Salk Vaccine or going way back, penicillin and many other drugs do that? All that will happen is they will simply find new drugs for other diseases. It is a circle just as I said about a dog chasing it's tail. Once a patent runs out they just find something else to make money on. That is why I said this will benefit anyone that may be suffering from CML. And this will just keep on going on. Maybe next will be AML or breast cancer, or colon cancer or many other types of cancer. Eventually all of these cancers will be cured but for the moment it is CML because of what there is now with all of these TKI"S It is just a matter of research, and it will come! Millie there are doctors out there like Dr. Druker and many others that do this not mainly for the money but to help save people from various diseases. 18's, Marty On Tue, Apr 15, 2014 at 4:03 PM, C.M.
