Can you believe my hemb was 15?? That's to high for women. Can you give me your kidney counts? Mine are high and my PCD says I have chronic kidney disease but my onc says don't worry about it. Thanks so much
Hi Jeanie, As you must already know that I have been through the mill with kidney problems. At first when all of this first started my Hemoglobin was at between the upper 10s and rarely approaching the lower 11s. And ever since I had the kidney transplant My creatnine levels was starting to slowly creep up from when I was normal. From 1.3 to 8 and I had already started in dialysis. Once I received my kidney transplant the creatnine level started to decrease until it was .9 to being now 1.23. That was probably due to the powerful antibiotics because of my murser infection. Now that I am finished with all of the picc line putting in those antibiotics I will have to wait until I get checked the hospital to see what they are now. As far as what my hemoglobin is now it is 13.6 which I haven't had after my bone marrow transplant and my kidney transplant until a week ago, so it is obliviously working. Anyway I am thrilled that you are mmr. Keep up this great work 18's, Marty As far as both of your doctors giving conflicting information who do you believe? I think that I already know, and the key to this is hemoglobin. And by the way your PCD says you have chronic kidney disease but my onc says don't worry about it." and your hemoglobin is at 15 which is not that high in some woman. And that is because as being a woman your body was "built" for women having a cycle period every month, and Your onc tells you not to worry about it. Now I want you to think about something and it may get complicated. When your kidneys begin to fail then your hemoglobin becomes less and less, and they sometimes start you on a hormone that normally comes from your kidneys, and it goes to your bone marrow called Procrit or Epogin. It helps you from being so anemic which is what your hemoglobin does to help increase it and it and being so that is why your your kidneys may not now be producing that hormone and without that hormone your kidney function will most probably start to increase. Now I am not a doctor but I have already been through all of this. I told you that it was complicated. If it were me again I would tend to choose the onc, but that is me. So for so good?.
