Sherri: So very sorry to hear of your "insurance woes". Just like us,
no word to let you know. I am just thankful that my husband went to the
pharmacy to fill one of his prescriptions when he
did and learned that it had just been dropped, or God help us, not sure
what we would have done to find insurance. And, at $3000 a month for just
the Gleevec, that would have depleted what
little retirement savings we have quickly. We already knew that we
would be doing the COBRA, just didn't realize we were going to that soon.
Thankfully, the insurance is pretty much the
same as we had before and will cover the Gleevec. It's hard to believe
how high Gleevec has reached price wise today. But, seems there are more
and more dx'ed where when I was, I think the number was something
between 5000 and 6000. That was in January of 2004.
God bless each and everyone.....Here we are getting to that time of
year....We need to count our blessings, that is for sure!
