Actually I meant "standard protocols" ,
I understand that for the CMS to speak to the web-server some mode of
communication is needed
it could use some of the TCP/IP protocol (FTP for example ) ,That's how
the CMS updates a web server ,if at all the web server is remote to the CMS.
But Lennart told me that the "web-server is the CMS" (Now I'm under the
presumption that anything could be the CMS ).
