Hi David,

My company makes another PHP-based CMS called Sitellite. It's free for personal and non-profit use, but for commercial use it's $1000 US per site (unlimited users). It has versioning, role-based access privileges, simple workflow, front-side editing, a URL rewriting scheme so search spiders think it's an ordinary site, and a very well-documented API of over 100 PHP packages, making it very flexible and customizable should you need it.

You can find out more and download a beta (new full release coming January 1st, with one more beta before then) at:

http://www.simian.ca/

For a short list of sites running Sitellite, check out:

We've been spending the last few weeks on user interface improvements which will appear in a final beta coming very very soon. Reading your job title, I would be very interested in feedback from you if you try out our system. I could even get you an early copy of the upcoming beta with all the user interface improvements. Let me know if you'd be willing and interested.

Cheers,

Lux

Hiya,

I'm on a shared hosting environment and am interested in recommendatinos for
PHP-based CMS systems. I'm allowed to do this, but I can't actually install
unprotected executables like Zope. Open source and free are always
preferred, but I'm interested in listening to other experiences as well if
the price/experience is right.

Thanx!
