Many years ago, I squandered a lot of coding effort to be able to run
PEEK, XEDIT, FILELIST, RDRLIST, ... all in a single ring. Needed
to front-end each command and remap PFKs and synonyms when I
switched members. Worked nicely for a while, but as the frontier
was tamed by new CMS releases it broke and I didn't pursue fixing it.
(effort better directed to OMVS with real concurrency support.)

But I wished all along that IBM had designed all the XEDIT-based
tools to operate in a single ring.
