Hi Erwin,
I've integrated the php version of Markdown into the cms I've built...
http://www.michelf.com/projects/php-markdown/
http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/
...I preferred it's syntax over Textile as it just seemed to be a
little more instinctive, but to each their own. In some cases I use it
on submitted fields so that the users are not even aware their text is
being formatted e.g it will convert...
- text like this
- straight to an
- unordered list
etc., which is what many form-filler-inners do naturally anyway.
Otherwise it's really pretty easy to have admin users learn some of the
simple syntax.

Hi all,
Instead of using WYSIWYG-editors (none of them quite right at the
moment,
although some show promise), has anyone ever showed and/or taught their
clients Textile ( http://www.textism.com/tools/textile/ )?
I mean, it can literally be picked up in a matter of minutes and
ouputs the
cleanest XHTML possible.
It's also available as a plugin for Expression Engine, Wordpress,
Textpattern and probably more...
Your thoughts?
Cheers,
Erwin Heiser
