Thanks for all your suggestions - I have begun reading the documentation
of all the links and suggestions made - I was asked what the hard
requirements are - and a very robust subscription manager is the top of the
list, and blog templates would be second.

I looked at expresionegine.com with www.campaignmonitor.com , though we
really want an all inone and don't want a service

I looked at WordPress, which looks good but I'm not sure the subscription
manager is robust enough, and I have the same worry about Textpattern - I
had also looked at MT since I've run blogs from it for years, but it won't
do.

ModX looks very interesting, but again it looks like real subscription
management is all in plug-ins and not robust, unless I'm missing something.

SilverStripe doesn't seem to have enough features though I love the
flexibility and apparent ease of template use.

Joomla looked real extensive and lots of developer info, but I could find no
subscription information at all.

The comparison matrix http://www.cmsmatrix.org/ was good and I put all of
the above (based on your input) plus a few that the team had mentioned into
it and got a terrific maitrxi that I've combined with your feedback to make
a great presentation for the powers that be so we can get one purchased.

Thanks so much for the help!

The company I just started with is in the midst of getting a CMS -...

Have you looked at www.expressionengine.com ? It can do all of what you're
looking for and more.
