I guess I've been lucky. No problems with US Customs, numerous problems with Canadian Customs stealing my potatoes and apples. (But they missed all the booze I had on board, heh, heh). One time a crew member was denied entry to Canada because of long ago minor criminal record.
The US Coasties is another story. I was stopped and inspected at sea 4 times in 12 month period.
