awlgrip will blister just below toerail if the person applying the
shrink wrap does not realize the boat is painted.  I have heard of this
on a C&C36 not too long ago and that resultdin blisters in teh awlgrip
and a complete new awlgrip job.

Is this really the "topsides," meaning above the waterline?  I've never
heard of blisters there before; nor lack of gelcoat.  Are you sure
you're not talking below the waterline?
