Haven't heard anyone mention the Scheafer rope clutches that are on my
recently purchased old 35 mk3, apparently as original equipment. I
removed, cleaned and tried them out and they seemed to hold at least to my
pulling on them (just rigged the boat and need to replace the line.

The PO mostly daysailed the boat, and it was allegedly rarely cruised (I
found the sink cutting boards in the closet with original packing tape in
place).

Is there someone who has pros/cons of just keeping these on? BTW...hit 80
degrees in Michigan today, and Lake Charlevoix is ice-free!!
