I have found that it is almost always windier on the west side of the
strait. Coming out of Nanaimo, the first 2-3 miles are rough and breezy,
and after that things even out a lot. Just listen to the weather conditions
at Entrance Island compared to anywhere else on the coast...they are almost
always the strongest.
