Steve:

I don't know your specific rig but one thing your should take into consideration since you have a Loos guage, find out the breaking strength of the your standing rig .......the manufacturer will probably recommend to never exceed 25% of breaking strength.

My rig is Navtec rod with an 8,000 lbs. breaking strength.....my upper or cap shrouds are usually set around 1,300 lbs. , well below the 25% range. Lower shrouds are around 1,100 and intermediates are tuned hand tight then two full turns.....haven't measured those yet with my Loos RT 10 gauge......maybe this year when we step the mast.

The C&C 34 owners can provide more specific tuning tips.

Guys I am looking for help with tuning my mast. Any advice is greatly
appreciated.

I have a C&C 34+ with double spreader mast that has one upper, one intermediate
and one lower rod shroud. I borrowed a friends loos gage other day and have stb
and port set exactly same. I understand how to look up mast for straightness and
to go sailing for fine tune . My question is this - what is starting ratio for
upper - intermediate - lower? If upper is say 2400lbs then would lower be 55% or
1300lbs o upper? Would intermediate be slightly less ie 1100/45% of upper? I'm
trying to get the starting point of approximate lbs for upper/intermediate/lower in
lbs and ratio.

Thanks for any help you all can provide.
