In MD you will still have to pay an annual fee ~$10 for a state DNR
sticker.  Since you have a current year sticker already you could probably
remove the numbers/letters now but I would wait until the renewal comes
up.  On the renewal form there is a place to put the doc number in lew of
the state issued ID number.  You might consider a fishing license for the
boat at this time too.

You will also receive a USCG renewal form annually.  It is free.
