I remember seeing ads for the aft cabin 40 after 1981. I like the engine access from all four sides, but not the long ladder. My 34R has engine access from all four sides and only 4 steps to the ladder.
Check out the 37/40 design from 1988/89 where Rob Ball incorporated a queen size island berth in an aft cabin w aft head and shower. More room and more speed. Just sayin.
