Dave,

I did this project two years ago. I think I used six gallons to get the
thickness I thought I needed. Some of the coats were thin. I alternated
white and gray when applying it. It was much easier to see where you were
painting and to get even coverage. I have heard they make measuring gauges
for this type of thing, but I just went with my gut instinct. Good coverage
and no blisters after two full seasons (crossing my fingers.cause I haven't
hauled yet). I dive the boat regularly and have seen nothing to be
concerned about.

Subject: Stus-List Barrier Coating

I'm having my boats bottom soda blasted and then I'm going to be applying a
barrier coating. The yard recommended 7 coats of Interlux Interprotect 2000E
barrier coat which frankly seems a bit much. According to them, Interlux
(who recommends 4-5 coats 10 mil minimum) won't honor their warrantee if you
use less. Never short for opinions I'm hoping you folks can provide me some
recommendations for barrier coatings.

Thanks,

Dave J
