Sanding with a disc sander requires skill. If you're not careful you will "tilt" the sander and gouge or scallop the hull.
Use at least a 6" sander and a soft pad. Maybe look to rent a rectangular DA sander made by Hutchins. The pad is about 12 x 3 inches. Dennis C.
