The PO of my boat was indiscriminate about the application of Yanmar Grey to the engine, wiring, belts, hoses, etc. When I get around to it I'll get the engine warm and use a degreaser (maybe just 409) then rinse it off. The warm engine will dry quickly and be ready for more indiscriminate spray paint.
