“keel stub transition”. Is this the hull-keel joint? That is a pretty normal
problem on a C&C of that vintage.

“prop skeg”. Are you referring to the strut?

If this is the case then is a very different scenario than if in other places.
Have a surveyor look at both to determine if a problem with strut and if keel
bolts and sump area are structurally ok. Likely these are easy fixes

I'll take a closer look today at the boat.

There are some at the keel stub transition as well as near the prop skeg? on
the port side that I can recall.

Derek,
EXACTLY where are the cracks? Are they in the forward underbody beneath the
V-berth? Do they run athwartships and line up with the bulkheads under the
V-berth?
Or are they longitudinal cracks in the hull to keel stub transition?

My new to me 1983 29-2 has some fine hairline cracks in various areas on the
hull. I don't know if they extend through the bottom paint or are more
superficial, but they can be felt when you run your hand over them. It is
painted with VC17 and I plan to recoat with that. I'm wondering how to best
deal with the cracks? Does epoxy filler stick to VC17? I have West System
products for other repairs. Sand down to the bottom of the cracks? I guess I
then need to do 5 coats of Interprotect before the VC17?
