That doesn't sound good.  You need someone with competency in nautical
structural design to look at that.

I worked on a Tartan 33R couple years ago that had issues in that same
area.  The owner got Tim Jackett, the boat's designer, involved.  The
repair was extensive.  Hopefully yours will be simpler.
