That Raymarine converter is pretty limited in the data it can convert; and it will only do 4800 baud, so if Steve ever wanted to add AIS, he’s need to throw that away and start over. And if there’s a reasonably-priced way to get to NMEA2000 (which I’ve suggested to Steve already), I’d definitely go that route, as NMEA0183 is kind of the stone knife of marine data… :^)
