Frivolous? Silly boater. Cup holders are one of the most serious accessories on a boat!
Seriously, Touche' has one of these on the pedestal guard: http://mobility.snapitproducts.com/snapit-marine/products/r001c/r001c-single-drink-holder However, I use it for my air horn. We also have two white plastic flip down cup holders mounted on the cockpit bulkhead at the steering station. The white ones are not that noticeable. I just replaced a pair of them. They would open up and allow the drink to fall out.
