I will follow this thread as I also get these pests on my boat. I recently had to use a wrench to smack the release lever on my Selden sprit to free it. It's made to be a simple thumb squeeze device. Lack of use. Mud dauber nests in the furled mainsail indicate it's been a while since the sail was hoisted. We all need to go sailing more often. Chuck
