Birders'
Yesterday, 3/15, the DFO trip to Weld Co had the following:

Union Reservoir:
White Pelican
Red-breasted Merganser 9

Latham Reservoir:
Cinnamon Teal 10
Great-tailed Grackle 2
Sandhill Crane 3 (fly by)

Crow Valley Campground: (the gates are still locked)
Merlin
The only other birds at all were 1 Flicker, 2 Mt Bluebirds and Robins. It was
dead.

Pawnee Grasslands:
WCR 124 west of WCR 77 - 7 Rough-legged Hawks in less than 2 miles.

At the Work Station north of Crow Valley, Tina Jones found a pile of owl
pellets under 1 of the junipers. Unfortunately, the maker of the pellets was
not to be found.

There was a single observer report of a Western Kingbird east of Longmont on
Hwy 119.

Also on Hwy 119 in the ponds on the north side of the road west of I 25, was a
very weird duck. It seemed to be a hybrid of a Gadwall and White-cheeked
Pintail or Ruddy Duck. It had a Gadwall body and the head of a White-cheeked
Pintail. The Boulder Bird Club trip also saw it.

Despite covering Beebee Draw quite well, we had NO shorebirds except Killdeer.
