Yesterday (Monday) afternoon, I came across a Northern Shrike in Frisco, on
the Lake Dillon side of Hwy 9 about 1\4 mile south of Main St. Earlier,
while skiing at Keystone, had no luck finding any finches on North
Peak--only birds were Mountain Chickadees and Gray Jays.

About 3 pm, I stopped by the Blue River Water Treatment Plant (Silverthorne)
where there were a lot of ducks:

Gadwall 1
Mallard ~50
Green-winged Teal 12
Ring-necked Duck 7
Bufflehead 3
Goldeneye ~100 (Barrow¹s & Common)

Re the Goldeneye, I counted 78 in one sweep but that did not include all of
the pond where there were at least 20 more. I did not have time to sort
through all of the females to differentiate between Common and Barrow¹s but
based on a quick count of males and using that split, I would say that there
were ~15 Common Goldeneye and ~85 Barrow¹s. Again, this is a rough estimate
given the number of female ducks.

I also saw 3 blackbird species flying in the distance but could not make a
positive ID. My guess is Red-winged Blackbird.
