There was a Long-tailed Duck without a very long tail at the innominate reservoir just south of 88th Avenue, east of the S Platte River and bounded on the east by Dahlia Street, from the narrow shoulder of which the viewing is adequate, though not thoroughly safe. One can also try parking on the south side of 88th, but around midday the view would be towards the sun. The best way to get to that area if you are not familiar with it, is by going a short distance west on 88th from its intersection with I-76, northeast of the Denver Metro area. As you probably know, that area has been good for Barrow's Goldeneye too, but I did not see any during a quick scan today. Joe Roller, Denver
