At Erie Reservoir on Highway 287 in Boulder County there were one male
and three female red breasted mergansers actively feeding until
sundown when they joined about 11 common goldeneyes. It was a lovely
end to a day starting with the snowy owl, to the Many ducks including
several long tailed ducks and good views of
