Hi, COBirders~ A flock of over 50 Evening Grosbeaks joined the flock of over 100 Rosies (all three kinds) that ebbed and flowed in hostess Beverly Jensen's yard early this morning in La Veta. A massive gaggle of Eurasian Collared Doves came in, with even more noisy Red-winged Blackbirds, a dozen zipping Pine Siskins and about that many American Goldfinches, all joining in the racket. Visits by Mountain Chickadee, Downy Woodpecker, Blue Jay, Black-billed Magpie, Northern Flicker, lotsa juncos, a few Song Sparrows, and fly-overs by Common Mergansers and Canada Geese, kept us watching and enjoying. A Belted Kingfisher greeted us at the creek, and six roosting Turkey Vultures bid us adieu as we left. We left the yard in the good care of a big, white, furry friend named Zeus.
Many thanks, Beverly. Tamie Bulow Brenda Gibb Colorado Springs, CO -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
