Sale Lake has basically been a bust this spring for migrating birds, but today,
during the hottest part of the day, I found about 30 cedar waxwings and 5
lesser goldfinches. Yesterday, I too noticed the fallout, with many Western
tanagers at Walden Ponds and along Boulder Creek W of 30th (I also saw an
olive-sided flycatcher by the creek). In my failed attempt to refind the Least
Bittern at Walden Ponds, I flushed a sora that was calling on the W side of
Cottonwood Marsh (I've NEVER even heard them there).
