Mark your calendar to join Colorado Breeding Bird Atlas volunteers for a
weekend rendezvous at Turquoise Lake June 18-20, 2010. Just west of Leadville,
the Homestake Reservoir-SE atlas block has not yet been worked. 36 possible
breding species were found in the block during Atlas I. We’ll try to complete
the block. Field training will be available to new volunteers. The May Queen
campground is in the block. A few sites are still available for online
reservations (http://www.recreation.gov/welcome.do?topTabIndex=Home). There are
additional campgrounds along the eastern side of the reservoir a short drive
from the atlas block. The regional coordinator will bring chili for Saturday
night dinner. Camp for the weekend or come out for a day. Please let the
coordinator know by June 15 if you plan to join us. Meeting times/place will be
emailed the week of the rendezvous. Contact Chuck Hundertmark, 303-604-0531 or
[email protected].
