Hi Cobirders, The Rufous thread has come full circle. Time to meet
the eye of the needle and sew it up!
Many on the way to the CFO convention and on way home stopped in
Georgetown. My son Bob,his wife Sondra
and I stopped Friday they saw it well but my binoculars and the busy
sparrow didn't allow me to get a good look.
My son got me some better optics for Fathers Day so we could see it
again. This time I did see it well twice.
It flew up into the tall Aspen at corner of the house. Rufous-
collared Sparrow stopped in the middle of the trunk
providing a good background. It had an unique head pattern and rufous
collar was wide more like a serape.
The sparrow was at the yard of the house on corner of Rose and Eight
Street. Definitely an urban sparrow
as it was reported for 3 short blocks on Rose St. Nice to see young
birders taking pictures with digital cameras
with telephoto lenses.
Hope many will get reports into the records committee!
